Main Job Purpose:

 

Household care is one of Client’s fastest growing categories with 2012 TO of E 1.8 bio and plans in place to double the size of the business in the near future, via White Space market entries and explosive Market Development in D&E, whilst at the same time maintaining strong D market positions via innovations.

 

The HHC Category SC Planning Manager’s main job is to

1)     Business partner Global Brand Development for delivery of Supply Chain aspects of innovations

2)     Creation of novel & agile supply chain models, balancing speed and need for strong margins with low CAPEX risk, in particular for D&E markets and white space entries.

3)     Define the global long term capacity requirement plan  

4)     Develop the strategic sourcing plan

5)     Ongoing quality and cost improvement

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

·   Supply Chain Business Partner to the HHC Brand Development Teams

·   Support the delivery of a complex portfolio of global innovation projects. Supports the delivery of SC elements of all Global Innovations from Boscard to MDL / Contract - this includes developing a clear vision for an optimized network and implementing an agreed upon improvement plan. Follow with regional partners after Contract to ensure QOTIF implementation (Quality on Time and In Full).

·   Radically improve both speed and quality of execution of innovation projects using tools such as Risk Management, BFI etc.

·   Ensure that simplification/complexity reduction principles are applied to assigned global innovation projects and if not will challenge the project team.

·   Prepare supply chain decision papers as input into IPM gate discussions for assigned innovation projects

·   Communicate SC related impacts and risks to Supply Chain stakeholders before any key meetings where assigned project will be discussed such as HHC GCLT.

·   Responsible to support the HHC SC Director on global sourcing strategy which will deliver the category growth plans, high customer service and quality, at lowest cost and optimum capital efficiency - ensures appropriate supply networks are in place to meet the long term needs. This requires the creation and execution of network optimization and regional sourcing plans.

·   Ensure that robust plans are created and maintained for the supply of all products at the agreed-to level of customer service, inventory and total supply chain costs.

·   Ability to clearly establish priorities and to achieve the optimal balance between product supply flexibility, inventory, responsiveness and cost through building and managing strong relationships with BD, R&D, Procurement and Regional / Local Supply Chain teams. Ensures decisions and trade-offs are made to optimise the value for Client as a whole.

·   Responsible, with the Home Care SC Technology Team, for developing and implementing new manufacturing technologies to deliver competitive advantage.

·   Supports the delivery of the HHC Materials Efficiency (VIP) targets via driving continuous improvement plans to reduce End to End Supply Chain costs, and supporting the development of new VIP ideas together with Procurement and R&D Partners.

·   Drive complexity reduction agenda in the category in partnership with R&D.

·   Coordinate Global Capacity planning. Propose Long Term Capacity creation plans in response to Global Category plans. Regular review of Long Term Capacity Plan, evaluating gaps between demand and supply at a global level for next 5 years and offer solutions based on sensitivity analysis/ What-If scenarios on a rolling basis.

·   Periodic review of the Global Sourcing Network, evaluating best sourcing configurations for product families and establishing / managing Service Level Agreements for agreed global sourcing plans.

·   The integration of the Global Innovation Plan, Category Technology Strategy and Manufacturing Excellence (OEE, OR improvement plans) with the global capacity plan. Evaluate the impact of innovation project portfolio on long term (3 to 5 years) volumes and CAPEX plan.

·   Actively support key global SC strategic projects such as packaging material strategies, D&E market entry SC strategy.

 

Professional Skills:

  • Information - Information in this role is obtained through organisational awareness, through various regions and people. The information is often not easily available and requires sensitivity and diplomacy to obtain.

Experience Required:

 

ESSENTIAL

·        6-8 years experience minimum in either procurement, R&D, technology SC or demand planning

·        Proven capability on project management

·        Financial acumen

·        Proven ability to work in multi functional / multi cultural teams
