At Deekay Recruitment, Corporate Social Responsibility is not an add on. It is embedded in how we operate. With over 35 years of experience delivering recruitment services to more than 200 public sector organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, government departments and universities, we are committed to creating measurable social value through employment, training and community partnerships.
- Supporting Employment and Training for Long Term Unemployed Individuals
We work closely with Jobcentre Plus, local councils and community outreach teams to support candidates who have been out of work for extended periods, particularly across the Northwest.
- Job Readiness Support: Our consultants offer tailored CV workshops, interview coaching and confidence building sessions as part of our onboarding process.
- Real Results: In 2024, over 20 percent of our placements were individuals who had been unemployed for six months or more. Over 85 percent remained in their roles for more than 12 weeks.
- Local Impact: We prioritise local hiring, directly reintegrating people into the workforce and supporting local economic resilience.
- Engaging Young People Through Education and Apprenticeships
We are committed to closing the experience gap for young people by equipping them with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed.
- Apprenticeships: We have partnered with Flixton Girls High School and Wellacre Academy to deliver three apprenticeship pathways. Two apprentices are now employed as Trainee Recruitment Consultants, and a third is completing a Business Administration qualification ahead of a permanent role.
- School and College Outreach: We regularly run CV clinics, mock interviews and insight sessions at Flixton Girls High School and Trafford College.
- Work Experience Placements: We hosted two students for structured two week placements, including employability workshops and hands on recruitment experience.
- Charitable Giving and Community Engagement
Our mission goes beyond recruitment. We actively support charities and local initiatives that promote inclusion, opportunity and wellbeing.
- Volunteering: All staff receive paid time off to volunteer. In 2024, our team contributed over 50 hours at community job fairs, CV workshops and mentoring events.
- Local Projects: Our staff and temporary workers volunteered for a regeneration project in a disadvantaged neighbourhood, contributing over 20 hours to cleanup and improvement work.
- Fundraising and Donations: We took part in Race for Life to raise money for cancer research and made donations to Trafford North Foodbank to support families in crisis.
- Ongoing Support: We commit a minimum of one hundred pounds annually, in cash or goods, to local charities focused on employment, youth support or housing needs.
- Championing Small Businesses and Local Supply Chains
We actively promote inclusive growth by integrating small and local enterprises into our business model.
- SME Focus: More than 70 percent of our suppliers are small businesses, including training providers, IT firms and compliance consultants.
- Regional Procurement: We source office supplies and services from local vendors, keeping investment within the communities where we operate.
- Training Referrals: We direct candidates to regional training providers for admin, digital and job readiness upskilling.
- Taking Responsibility for Environmental Sustainability
While our sector is not emissions intensive, we take active steps to reduce our environmental impact.
- Going Paperless: In 2023 we adopted a fully digital compliance model, cutting paper usage by more than 80 percent.
- Low Carbon Practices: We prioritise virtual interviews and onboarding, which in one recent campaign saved over one thousand kilograms of carbon dioxide.
- Green Culture: We promote carpooling, public transport and energy saving habits across our team.
- Creating Partnerships That Drive Long Term Social Impact
We work collaboratively with universities, housing associations and public frameworks to deliver outcomes that go beyond recruitment.
- Student Employment: We provide flexible roles for university students, supporting both income and employability.
- Higher Education Partnerships: We work closely with the University of Manchester to connect underrepresented groups with job opportunities. This includes vacancy sharing, feedback on accessibility and tailored support for applicants.
Public Sector Collaboration: Through frameworks and housing partnerships, we contribute to outcomes around job creation, youth development and local economic growth, all at no additional cost to our clients.
