Role: Commercial Property Solicitor
Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester
Duration: 3 months+
My local authority client are looking to appoint a qualified Commercial Property Solicitor to join their property and planning legal team, for initially a three month temporary contract with possible extension. Pay rate is negotiable.
The role will involve a broad range of general commercial property work including acquisitions and sales, leases, general landlord and tenant estate management work and work on development and regeneration schemes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate: a working knowledge of commercial property law and experience of dealing with a range of property transactions; and will have the ability to manage a range of legal case work with minimum supervision, be able to prioritise their own workload and work to tight deadlines.
You will work closely with the Council’s Asset Management Team and other services as well as the legal services team and will therefore have good customer care and interpersonal skills, good communication and problem solving skills and will work well as part of a team and be flexible, enthusiastic and committed.
You will possess commercial awareness and have a “can do” approach. You’ll be skilled at drafting legal documentation, providing concise and clear advice, and carrying out legal research and analysis. Well-organised and adaptable, you may from time to time be asked to take on challenges outside your field of expertise.
The grading of the appointment will be made based on interview and experience. Progression within the grading structure will be based on clear criteria.
You will join a strong team that deals with issues in a pragmatic manner, within a supportive environment and be required to work 36.25 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Flexible working initiatives are also available.
Local authority experience is desirable.
