Role: Finance Accountant
Salary: £350 per day
Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards; Summarise current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports; Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice; Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
Assistant Regimental Secretary (Resources) - The Regimental Finance Officer is a senior staff officer within the RHQ. They may stand in for the Regt Sec and support him in all aspects of Regimental business and must have the trust and confidence of the whole spectrum of the Regiment, including Trustees.
Core Responsibilities include: management of the finance function with particular emphasis on Financial Analysis, Forecastng and Budgets; Investments and Insurance; Maintenance of Regimental Funds; Tax, ERNIC and Gift; Preparation of the accounts for submission to Trustees and maintenacne of Public Funds.
Other Responsibilities include; through the Benevolence Case Committee, support current and ex members of The Regiment. Liaise with outside agencies such as ABF, SSAFA, TRBL, Veterans Agency and the Charities Commission; Management of the One Days Pay Scheme; Assist in the planning, execution and financial management of major Regimental events as directed; Purchase, hold and distribute accoutrements for the greater Regimental family; Management of the receipt of funds in respect of Presentation and Dinner Club Funds.
Competences - must have strong financial background, preferably with professional qualifications and "Sage" accountancy experience.
Must understand and / or be in sympathy with the regimental system including knowledge of the regimental organisation, history, traditions and customs. On Occasion, work unpaid overtime on weekends and evenings at regimental events. Flexibility in working hours is possible in order to compensate for working during normal off-duty time.
