MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To Act as a Specialist Scientific Advisor to the Environmental Health (Environmental Protection) Division and to other Council Departments on matters related to air quality management and air pollution control.

Provide high quality specialised Environmental Health, Environmental Protection services and advise on the full range of issues which meet the needs of Tower Hamlets multi-racial community including managing projects and assisting in policy development as required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To be an expert and carry out air pollution investigation, monitoring control and enforcement. Check and maintain the Council’s air pollution monitoring stations and equipment, carry out monitoring, collect data, interpret trends, using the Section’s Geographical Information System and report on conclusions, particularly relating to transport, construction and any community problems.
