Role Profile:

Here in Rochdale, we have ambitious plans for growth and investment and the planning service is at the heart of everything we do.

The £250m transformation of Rochdale town centre is well underway and we are now developing plans for 2000 new homes around the town centre supported by public realm enhancements. Our ambitious plans also extend to the GMSF which will see us play a leading role in the future growth of the City Region and the North West economy over the next 20-years and beyond.

Due to maternity leave, we are looking for an experienced interim Development Manager to help support and manage the team for an initial 3-4 month period (with the possibility of a further extension).

We are therefore looking for someone who has previous experience of managing a busy urban planning service and who can support the team with a particular focus on signing off decisions, day to day running of the team and who can also help us by leading on a small number of major development projects.

The roles will suit an experienced and commercially minded planning professional with a strong track record of successfully leading Development Management teams and major projects. You will possess outstanding technical knowledge, have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate how you can manage and support a team of planners.
