Role: Cost Manager
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Rate: £300 per day
Production and delivery of estimating and/or costing for delivery solutions in line with contract brief and budget. Monitor project and/or financial performance and ensure robust forecasting. Ensure that all financial systems are updated to time, cost and quality, appropriate KPI's. Manage and implement targets to ensure that non-performance identified and benchmarking in place. Responsible for internal and external stakeholder engagement relating directly to the project.
The Cost Manager will be a qualified and a senior member working within a collaborative environment of the multidisciplinary Contract Management Team.
a. Lead the Regional Cost Management Team.
b. Manage Quantity Surveyor (QS) activities.
a. Lead on regional QS issues.
b. Lead the regional Cost Team including, line management duties, mentoring and training
Cost and other FM staff.
c. Foster collaborative working with the IP.
Manage Cost and QS Activities (working in partnership with IP):
d. Provide cost advice and QS support to FM and other personnel.
e. Manage the MOD cost process, including validating IP MPTC and other quotes/estimates.
f. Manage final accounting process.
g. Provide procurement advice.
h. Provide cost estimating services and cost benchmarking activities. Support other DIO
personnel in carrying out this function, including where necessary supporting training and
the development of estimating tools and databases.
i. Provide support to Commercial activities and Contract Performance Measurement and
j. Management (working in partnership with IP),supporting contract changes and amendments, including assisting the evaluation, negotiation and agreement processes.
k. Support the resolution of commercial disputes.
l. Support the monitoring and measurement of the Contract.
m. Support the development and delivery of contract efficiencies and improvement.
Booking for travel or overnight stay will be via HRG and expenses claimed back on their weekly timesheet
Candidate must hold a relevant technical and Quantity Surveyor qualification preferrably to degree level
