Role: Senior Project Officer Regeneration
Location: Cheshire
Rate: Negotiable

To lead, manage and successfully deliver regeneration projects and actively contribute to the development and implementation of regeneration policies within Cheshire West and Chester. In doing so ensure that delivery of projects and programmes meet the required standards of quality and best value. To contribute to the wider regeneration work of the Section as necessary to improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of Cheshire West and Chester.


1 To co-ordinate, manage and deliver key regeneration projects within the overall Economic Growth Service

2 To assemble, manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams appropriate to the projects.

3 To plan and design the projects, proactively monitor their overall progress, assessing risks, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.

4 To define the projects governance frameworks

5 To develop, agree and manage project budgets including the identification, application and securing of external funding. In doing so monitor and control budgets ensuring their cost effective, efficient and economic management.

6 To establish and monitor performance measures to include outputs and milestones and any other specific external funding requirements.

7 To ensure appropriate and meaningful consultation takes place with other internal services, external bodies and the local community affected by project proposals.

9 To develop and maintain close working relations and ensure effective communication between all involved to secure the achievement of the projects aims and outputs.

10 To manage communications with stakeholders.

11 To produce and manage project communications such that all stakeholders are appraised at a level consistent with their relationship to the projects. Using written progress reports, informal briefings and formal presentations as appropriate.

12 Represent and act as an advocate for Cheshire West and Chester on local, regional, national and international bodies to promote the Council’s position on legislative development and programme delivery procedures and secure maximum support and resource allocation within Cheshire West and Chester.
