Role Profile:

Deekay are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner in Lutterworth for a major 3PL organisation.
Hours of work: 4 on 4 off Days or Nights (7am - 7pm OR 7pm - 7am)

Duties:

• To develop and control an agreed amount of resources (vehicles, drivers, trailers) ensuring all legal constraints are adhered to (Working Time Directive and EU Drivers’ Hours regulations)
• Produce effective transport plans guided by the time based planning process
• To allocate and monitor the usage of specialist equipment i.e. (MOL)
• Effective management of drivers through on-going communication supplemented by the use of Isotrak group analysis screen
• Ensure that internal tracking system housekeeping is completed to the required standards
• Understanding and achieving specific targets regarding utilisation, cost pence per mile (CPPM), wage to revenue, empty legs
• Review allocated customers making sure that work is planned to time and correct equipment is efficiently utilised
• Constantly communicate with customer services and drivers to ensure customer kpi targets achieved and maintained
• To have a working knowledge of the relevant highway standards, including the design manual for roads and bridges (DMRB) and the manual for streets
• To understand and have experience of working with the planning regulatory framework, and knowledge of planning and transport policy as applied to development
• Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients
• Ensure compliance of drivers with appropriate training i.e. passport to safety
