To lead, manage and deliver the Facilities Management function across the operational estate. The Facilities Management Lead will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety and efficiency of the operational estate and facilities. The role will ensure all buildings are kept clean, secure, compliant and a functional working environment that supports service requirements, employee wellbeing, and cost-effective asset management.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of buildings and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and statutory regulations.
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
- Manage the FM team, contractors, suppliers and service providers to ensure quality and value for money.
- Monitor building systems
- Represent the service area for risk management, be point of contact for Operational Estate activities.
- Manage and set agreed budgets for income and expenditure in accordance with the Council’s Financial Regulations and Standing orders and assist the line manager in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for the services provided.
- Prepare, agree, monitor and review, in conjunction with the Portfolio Manager Corporate Estates all service level agreements and pricing structures for the delivery of services to new and existing customers,
- Management of the FM inbox- acknowledging, reporting, planning and ensuring rectifications of issues reported.
- Oversee the completion of orders and raise invoices as required to maintain service.
- Ensure Operational Estate assets are in order, fit for purpose and maintained.
- Manage the on-site contracts, including building and window cleaning and waste management.
- Contractor communication, allocation of works, engagement and accountability for Operational Estate works.
