Senior Property Lawyer

This exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Legal Services at Sheffield City Council at what will be exciting times for Sheffield as it continues its existing regeneration and embarks on new programmes.
The teams you will be managing are based in the Town Hall.
The teams provide transactional services and legal advice in relation to a wide range of complex property areas, including all aspects of commercial and residential conveyancing, commercial landlord and tenant, academies, regeneration and charitable trusts.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage a varied case load including high-profile and complex matters
- Manage a team of friendly and hardworking lawyers and professional officers dealing with a diverse range of legal practice areas. These areas include Property, Planning, Highways and Local Land Charges
- Work closely with senior officers and at times councillors, external lawyers and developers as well as an established commercial property and regeneration team of officers
- Work with Senior Lawyers, the Service Managers, the Legal Leadership Team and other stakeholders to provide high quality legal services
For the role, you will need:
- Recognised Legal Qualification (Solicitor/Barrister or CILEx Conveyancing Practitioner)
- Good experience of complex commercial and residential property and regeneration work
- Excellent communication and comprehensive commercial property drafting skills
- Managerial experience
